CCTV Drain Survey

Basic inspections to full site CCTV drain surveys.

If you’re experiencing a problem with your drainage system, a professional CCTV drain survey will help identify the cause of the problem so that action can be taken to avoid reoccurring drainage problems. They can be used to identify all kinds of issues, including collapsed drain pipes to redundant connections and serious blockages. Without reliable CCTV drain surveys, it would be practically impossible to identify drainage issues without excavating the surrounding area. Here at JET2CLEAR ltd we have access to industry-leading technology to deliver pipeline inspections of all kinds.

Using specialist equipment, we will insert a CCTV camera probe down your drain, allowing our drainage engineer to see any defects within your drainage system. The equipment allows us to view the footage live, as well as being recorded so we are able to review the footage in more detail. If we detect any issues during the inspection, we will also share the footage with you so you are able to see the extent of the problem.

Situations when a CCTV Drain Survey Can Help With

  • Tree root ingress: Some older pipes are vulnerable to being damaged by the roots of large trees growing in the area. If this has happened, you will usually need to replace large sections of your pipes or have them re-lined, so it makes sense to use a camera for confirmation.
  • General blockages: If drain blockages are frequent you need to know exactly where they are blocking up and what caused them. A CCTV drain survey makes it easy to find them.
  • Inspections before a new home purchase: Having to get a home’s drainage system redone can be a huge expense. Using a drain camera to survey a new home’s pipes before you purchase the property can give you some protection from this unexpected addition to the final cost of your new home.
  • Insurance assessments: Insurance companies like to get a feel for what condition your property’s drainage system is in before they commit to offering you any particular rates or coverage. A drain camera not only makes it easy to do this with minimal disruption to your life, but also allows the video to be saved by the company for future reference in the event of a claim.
  • Problems with no known cause: Sometimes even drainage engineers are mystified as to why certain pipe problems are occurring. When that happens, it helps to look directly into the pipework itself and see if there are any anomalies to be found. From hidden leaks to rats taking up residence where they shouldn’t be, you never know what a camera might find. With our Pipe & Wall Inspections, we’ll solve your issues quickly and effectively.

What if you don’t need the full CCTV drain survey report?

We can offer a “quick look” drain survey, often referred to as a drain inspection, to locate and diagnose a specific problem within a drain.

The engineer can show you the footage, or any issues as he does the quick survey. This is cheaper and quicker for those who do not require a full written report, however, he will give a free estimate for particular damage or issue.

How Long Does A CCTV Drain Survey Take?

Once we arrive at your property, our engineers will find a suitable access point to insert the camera into your drainage system. The camera is fed along your drain pipe and the footage is fed back to the engineer to visually inspect the condition of the system in real time. Any blockages, cracks, or other damage would be identified during this time. A basic CCTV drain inspection to pinpoint the source of your drainage problem, will typically take under an hour, providing that access to the drainage system is adequate. If you have requested a full drain survey or home buyers drain survey, then these can take anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on the size of the property.

I expected the guys to unblock the drain and leave, instead tided up and cleaned away the mess and debris from the drain. I have used other companies in the past where I had to clean up afterwards. Thanks Lads.
